I've never been in Miskolc, but I heard that it's a nice city! I'm sure you'll like it! I think Hungary has beautiful parts, so you are in a lucky situation because it's a small country so you can easy visit all parts of it!

A lot of people can speak English but it isn't general at all. Miskolc is not far from Budapest, I think it's about 1,5 hour long journey.
