Wen to Tokyo, Shiragawago, Nagaya, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Himeji, Nara and Osaka in two weeks. Maxed out my 7-day JR Pass and had a great time in Japan and Taiwan. Ask me about my travel!

Hi, BSFII san. Thank u for writing on my wall. From my opinion, I don't think your plan is reasonable because you'll visit too many places. Osaka, Kobe, Nagoya, and Tokyo are just big city. You can enjoy feeling the difference between Osaka and Tokyo. There is the cultural difference between two cities. I mean, it depend on what you want to see. I strongly recommend you to reduce your visiting places. FYI

Thank you very much. I will consider your suggestion. Do you think it would be too much for me to go to Hokkaido for one day from Tokyo in the middle of my first week of visit? I don't know how long it takes for things to happen and how things work in Japan. Japan and California is about the same size but the infrastructure is different. It may also be very different how things are done in the two culture, Japanese and American.

Hi BSFII!

You stay about 2 weeks in Japan, right?
Tateyama is situation between Matsumoto and Kanazawa.
I recommend the plan below.

Tokyo
↓ JR
Matsumoto
↓ Bus & Alpen Route
Tateyama
↓ Alpen Route & JR
Kanazawa
↓JR
Kyoto
↓JR
Osaka

Tateyama is situation in the mountain, so you can see the beautiful nature, climbing mountains and do trekking.
You don't have to stay overnight at Tateyama, but the schedule is tight a little bit.
There are hotels and lodges around Tateyama, so it will better stay 1 night if you visit Tateyama.

Hi BSFII,

I'm glad to hear you come to Japan.
You must visit Tokyo and Osaka.
How many days are you planning to stay?
I recommend you Tateyama to visit.
