I see you are from Long Island or posting from there. If not for a move to NJ before I was born, I did not grow up on the island. My mother and her parents came from Bellport and Cutchogue. There was a time when their house was listed as the "Oldest house in Bellport". But as time marches on, it finally fell down by itself. I went into the HVAC field in 1967 and retired 40 years later in 2007. My grandmother had a brother who lived on an inlet from Mattituck. He would carch fresh lobster, as well as clams and blue claw crab to sell on his roadside stand in town. I was never allowed to go with him. Guess I was too young. When was 14 years of age, my grandmother and aunt took the train to Mattituck to be present at his funeral. This matter would take up too much time.
